I investigate new display technologies suited for future Apple products. I am pumped by making truly immersive displays that would blur out our boundaries with the virtual world. I enjoy leveraging and implementing state-of-the-art imaging and rendering algorithms to compensate for the hardware limitations of modern displays in the software.

I joined Apple from the MIT Media Lab where I was a Visiting Scholar under Prof. Ramesh Raskar in the Camera Culture group. There, I was working on developing disruptive applications of computational imaging and depth sensing. My work there on “Reading through a Closed Book” using Tera-Hertz imaging modality is under review at the Nature Communications journal.

In the past corporate life, I have interned as an Engineering Leader at Intel’s Perceptual Computing group investigating novel applications of their RealSense® depth cameras. There, I developed a real-time human posture analysis and alert application and submitted for IP disclosure. I also honed my software development skills by working for a financial software and big data analytics startup, Nomis Solutions, in the San Francisco Bay area.

I enjoy solving problems in the areas of machine vision and learning and digital image and signal processing. My innate interest in physics motivates me to see the real-world problems from the natural sciences perspective. For this reason, most of my undergraduate and graduate research has leveraged signal processing and machine learning concepts to address applied physics problems in the atmospheric and space research setting.

During my Masters from the Stanford University, CA, where I was a U.S. Department of Energy and Tau Beta Pi Graduate Fellow, I conducted research in the Space, Telecommunications, and Radiosciences lab under Prof. Umran Inan on statistical analysis of auroral plasma waves observed at the southern hemisphere. Earlier, I completed my undergraduate studies at New Jersey Institute of Technology with the Presidential Gold Medal, staying extensively involved in the lidar/radar remote sensing of the lower atmosphere and studying the impact of urbanization on global climate.
